Office Christmas
I attended my first office Christmas party on Friday. It was - ummmm - interesting? There were those earning brownie points with the boss and fighting for a moment to chat up their project to the board leader. There were those there for the free food and open bar. There were those all about the after party, and there were those just there to hook up with someone in the office.
The funny thing is, that those there to hook up took the attitude that they were in the sixth grade employing friends to chat up the hook in question, and creating all sorts of drama. I went to the party for the free food, and avoided the juvenile play.
It's not to say I didn't have fun, though. I did eat free steak, and I did drink free wine, and I did nibble on free chocolates. I also attended the after party, and one lucky office member found himself under the mistletoe with the roommate and I;-)

A lucky officemate, Indeed!!!
So the usual shinanigans occured. Nothing like an office xmas party to bring out the best in people!
I always head for the free food and the bar too! There is always someone that drinks too much and crosses that line and forgets where they are. Hee hee!
Oh dear, now I remember standing on the table one year and singing to a mananger I had a crush on...
WOW! Sounds like a kick ass time! Steak, wine, chocolate, and kissing...it's the total package! Sweeeeeeeet!
Free food is always a bonus. My Xmas party for work had nothing free. And the gifts we received were from the returns cart.:S
Glad you had fun!
did you say free food and drink????? how did i miss that???
We don't have holiday parties. Super large telecom company with billions of dollars of profit each year (and whose stock still isn't making me any money)can't even swing a punch and cake holiday reception!
I bet the bigwigs are getting steak and three martini lunches though.
Office Christmas parites are all about the free booze and food. It looks like you had fun, and you didn't make an ass out of yourself, which is an added bonus!
leroy - of course;-)
boy - oh i know!
tod - singing you say?
rock - there was a pretty nice spread for sure!
adult - !! well, that's just no fun:-(
dilling - damn, I knew I forgot to send out an invite..;-)
cindy - cheap jerks! they could even make it potluck! I bet they just don't want to give you guys any extra time off of working. Ours was in the afternoon, so it was a half day, yay!
life - I don't think I did....maybe I should check the pictures again!! :-)
I am very jealous of the dork in the middle. ;)
Steve~
We just had a xmas potluck at the office with our secret santa gift exchanges and much to my surprise, the woman I bought a present for gave me a big hug. So I will chauk that up as a "good day". Doesn't take much to brighten up someone's day!
steve - as well you should be;-)
leroy - a big hug is nice...
Hugs and cookies...and sometimes a cheeseburger...but that's just me.
Office parties are painful. I went to one once. Never again.
Happy Holidays:)

Hooking up at an office party? sheez. Isn't there a saying, don't shit where you eat...
office parties ROCK! Our company is having it after the holidays at Ritsy (not to be named) Country Club with a band, open bar, and everything. What the HECK am I going to wear!?
I guess something new is in order.
